About EEH

Victor Paes BSc (Hons) MNIMH

My name is Victor Paes, a registered medical herbalist based in London's East End. I graduated from the University of Westminster in 2019, having concluded a 3 year degree in Herbal Medicine, incorporating 500 hours of clinical practice. I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH), the UK's professional membership organisation that sets the highest standards of practice in herbal medicine. I also hold a level 4 diploma in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4), which is a nationally recognised prehospital care qualification, clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework.

As a healthcare provider I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to maintain and develop skills and competencies to carry out professional and clinical duties competently.

I am also a member and field coordinator of the Mobile Herbal Clinic (formally Herbalists Without Borders UK - Calais). I have been working in the refugee camps in Northern France since 2019, providing first aid, acute herbal medicine, self care support and healthcare access support to thousands of displaced people.

In addition, I also help to facilitate some of the herbal walks organised by 'Misery Party', a mental health collective centred around healing for Queer/Trans/Non-binary & people of colour. This is a part of the National Survivor User Network

I am passionate about medicine but given the limitations and side effects of orthodox medicine when treating chronic conditions I decided to pursue a natural health & nutrition pathway.

My areas of interest in my practice centre around gastrointestinal health (gut-brain connection), metabolism (mitochondrial function) and neurodiversity support.

My wider interests include community organising, botany, mycology, gardening, foraging and hiking.
